Director Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School's The Tempest
For over a dozen years I worked as an artist in residence with Shakespeare & Company directing High School students in 90 minute productions of Shakespeare's plays. Here are photos of some of the projects I have done for Shakespeare & Company.
Notes From the Field:
Doing Time in Education
During the summer of 2016, I was fortunate enough to be chosen to participate in a very special piece of theatre. I was chosen as one of 50 local educators/artists/activists to facilitate conversations with the audience during Act II of Anna Deavere Smith's "Notes from the Field: Doing Time In Education" at the American Repertory Theater. I spent the summer working with Ms. Smith, members of the Pipeline Project, and fellow facilitators to develop a way to disrupt the traditional role of the audience and engage them in very frank conversations about race, privilege, inequality and the school to prison pipeline. It was very difficult to be steeped in the realities of this subject, and to confront the obstacles we face in making a change, but the skill and commitment of everyone involved in this project gave me great hope.
